We Have Lost...
A downloadable game
You are all members of the Empress’ bodyguard, her constant companions. She is dead and you have a chance to remember her as she was, as you were when she was alive. Tell tales of her rise and eventual fall before discovering the fate of her Empire…
A four-page GMless story game for 3-6 players. Originally published in Codex: Leviathan.
You'll need counters of two different colours to pass amongst yourselves in play, or some way to record that for remote play.

Just got this to the table today. 4 players, aged 20 - 56.
We went with the 'one of us has just slain the empress' story setup. By the end it was revealed that the slayer was acting strictly on the Empress's orders. Her killer was sacrificed on the chopping block of history, delivered by my own hand. The Empress was succeeded by her secret love child of another among us. The new Emperor ushered in a golden age and destigmatized bastardry in the Empire.
We each loved it and are planning to play again at next week's meeting.
Comparing to other games, you might think of this an an accelerated FIASCO. Highly recommended.
Amazing!
Thanks for sharing - so pleased to hear about your exploits and that you all had fun
A 4-page game that slams with its effectiveness. Judge for yourself: the queen is dead and we are gathered around her body; we remember her reign, the good times and the bad; we hide our resentment and contain our love. It's all based on a system of choices to be checked and colored stones to be distributed and it's devilishly effective; the kind of game to put in your bag and take out at the first opportunity.
Thanks so much for the kind words - glad you enjoyed it!
